Audio and notes
Your recordings, imported audio, transcripts, titles, tags, and Smart Notes are stored locally on your device. Speech transcription uses Apple’s on-device speech technology. Smart Notes use Apple’s on-device intelligence when available. We do not receive or upload your audio, transcripts, or notes.
Files leave the app only when you choose to share or export them. Your device’s backup settings may separately back up local app data through Apple.
Purchases and limited usage information
RevenueCat provides subscription purchases and entitlement checks. The app gives RevenueCat an anonymous app user identifier and purchase and subscription information needed to manage access to Premium.
To understand where customers have trouble using the app, we also send one-time, content-free indicators for these steps: opening the app, opening the recorder, selecting an import, completing an import, opening a transcript, and viewing the upgrade screen. These indicators contain no audio, transcript text, titles, file names, search terms, or contacts. They are associated with the anonymous RevenueCat app user identifier.
RevenueCat processes this information for us. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy for its data-handling practices. Apple separately processes App Store transactions under its own privacy policy.
Permissions
Microphone access is used to record audio. File access is used only for files you select to import or export. You can change permissions in device settings.
Retention and choices
You can delete recordings in the app. Deleting the app removes its local data, subject to any device backups you have enabled. Subscription and anonymous usage information held by RevenueCat is not removed by deleting the app. To request access to or deletion of that information, contact us.
Updates
We may update this policy as the app changes. The latest version will always be available on this page.
